Since 2024, Poynton Round Table has been one of Just-Ice’s most consistent community supporters — and this year they’ve done it again.
For the second year running, Round Table has awarded Just-Ice a grant of £2,500, bringing their total contribution to our work to £5,000. That funding has gone directly toward our paid hospitality training programme — supporting survivors of modern slavery and human trafficking as they rebuild their lives, gain qualifications, and move toward independent employment.
Who Are Poynton Round Table?
Poynton and District Round Table is a community organisation based in Poynton, Cheshire, made up of local men aged 18–45 who fundraise, socialise, and give back to the area they call home. Each year they organise two flagship community events — the Poynton Bonfire Night and the Santa’s Sleigh collection — raising tens of thousands of pounds that goes straight back into local causes.
Every May, they review grant requests from charities, schools, and community groups across Poynton and the surrounding area, and vote on where the money should go. In both 2024 and 2025–26, Just-Ice was among the organisations they chose to support.
What the Funding Means to Us
Running a social enterprise that prioritises people over profit means funding is never straightforward. Grants like the one from Poynton Round Table allow us to invest in our trainees — covering programme costs, resources, and the time needed to deliver meaningful, lasting support.
Poynton Round Table's generous grant has a direct and meaningful impact on the lives of the survivors of modern slavery Just-Ice is supporting. The money funds the salaries of these vulnerable people, providing them with new opportunities (such as enrolling in further education or an apprenticeship), security and stability.
More than that, it’s a vote of confidence from our own community. Poynton Round Table aren’t a distant funder — they’re local people who know us, believe in what we do, and keep coming back. That means a great deal.
